OKAY! Do I need to be a little more convincing? Let’s go through what we will call the power of 5.

5 Power Ingredients

Shea-butter.jpg Shea Butter

A beautiful butter from the wild-growing Butyrospermum Parkii tree, all the way from West and Central Africa. Well known for its moisturising effects. Rich in Oleic and Linoleic acids, Omega 9 and 6 respectively. Powerhouses that regulate the natural lipid balance offer conditioning and restorative skin effects. Irritation, sensitivity, dryness, and breakouts can often be due to a damaged skin lipid barrier. Studies have shown that low levels of linoleic acid present in sebum could be the cause of some acne-prone skin; it’s time to add some back. Time to repair!

-.jpg Virgin Jojoba oil

Fun fact: an oil like wax extracted from the seeds of the Jojoba plant. This liquid ‘gold’ wax closely mimics and resembles the skin's natural sebum, thus being welcomed by the skin. It penetrates deep into the epidermal layer, resulting in long term hydration, sealing in moisture, and creating effective barriers against external factors. With a 99.9% lipid content consisting of:
• Palmitic acid, an emollient that softens, smooths, and assists in retaining moisture, therefore slowing water loss through the skin.
• Palmitoleic acid offers rejuvenating, renewal, and anti-inflammatory skin properties and plays a role in maintaining skin elasticity.
• Eicosenoic acid helps to balance skin oils while offering moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties.
• Behenic acid, helping you achieve a smoother skin texture while ensuring good skin quality.
• Erucic acid, offering soothing properties.!

Plukentia-volubilis-Seed-oil.jpg Plukentia volubilis Seed oil

From an Amazonian plant all the way from Peru. As the name suggests, a seed oil with a very high level of unsaturated fatty acid content. From Omega 3 to 6 and 9. Let’s not forget the palmitic acid content. This ingredient is one of our all-time favourites, with some insanely beneficial properties. A powerful active ingredient that preserves the skin’s lipid balance, preventing keratinization disorders. This highly penetrating oil improves skin elasticity and healing while regenerating and balancing, all while soothing and softening the skin. Gosh, that’s a mouthful! Not only is your skin left soft and smooth, but this ingredient has a proven efficacy of a whopping 66% increase in skin suppleness, resulting in improved skin texture.

Cucumber.jpg Cucumber extract

Cucumber is a herbaceous vegetable that has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. The reparative extract is extracted from the pulp of the fruit and is well known for its moisturizing properties. It is rich in proteins, amino acids, and minerals; these are hygroscopic, which means they attract moisture and bind these water particles to the skin's surface, resulting in increased skin hydration. The reparative property of this extract reduces skin dehydration and dryness and encourages a reinforced skin barrier function. Potassium, calcium, and magnesium are powerful minerals found in cucumber extract, helping to regulate homeostasis by remineralising the skin. Packed with antioxidants, cucumber helps fight against free radicals, protecting cells against damage as a way of fighting premature ageing of the skin. But because cucumber extract also has regenerative and restructuring properties, the skin structure is protected against degradation. Furthermore, it has additional healing capabilities, which include anti-inflammatory, soothing, skin-protecting, and radiance-preserving properties.

Vitamin-E.jpg Vitamin E

Also known as Tocopheryl Acetate. A well-known antioxidant often found in cosmetic products. Not only does Vitamin E protect products from oxidation, but it also has known skin-benefiting properties, which include skin healing, anti-inflammatory, rehydrating, and, let's not forget, helping with the healing process and appearance of scarring and stretch marks.

Now let’s take a look at 5 reasons to add it to your cart.

5 ways you can use our Nourishing Prep Serum

Our Nourishing Prep Serum has been formulated to prep and prime your skin before your makeup application. Apply a small amount to your skin and gently massage it in. Allow a few minutes for it to absorb into your skin, then follow with your usual makeup routine. But this time, your skin will look radiant and finally give you that fresh and youthful glow.

If you have oilier skin, you might find it a little too oily to wear underneath your makeup as a primer, and that’s okay! To give your skin the nourishment it deserves, generously apply it at night, your skin will still look radiant. If you have drier and more dehydrated skin, we suggest applying it both in the morning before your make-up routine and at night. Evenings are a wonderful way to allow your skin to fully absorb and benefit from all the power-packed ingredients it has to offer, as this is the time when your skin cells truly regenerate.

Dedicate a weekly pamper session! Not only does your skin need skin-loving ingredients, but increasing blood circulation is a wonderful way to boost the skin's healing and regenerating processes. Set aside 5 minutes and give your face a massage. Using facial rollers and gua sha stones is a great way to increase circulation while applying your Nourishing Prep Serum.

Add it to your moisturizer. For increased hydration and moisture, add a small amount to your facial cream or moisturizer.

Suffer from extremely dry skin on other parts of your body, such as your hands or feet? Massage the Nourishing Prep Serum into your dry areas and experience the wonderful properties for yourself.

A little goes a long way, but you might want to take it with you wherever you go. It’s for this reason that we have made it available in two sizes.

A 10 ml travel size, perfect to pop into your bag or even your kit if you are a MUA (the Nourishing Prep Serum is a make-up game changer, and your clients will love you for treating their skin while working your creative magic too), and a generous 30 ml, which will last you at least 6 weeks if you are applying it both in the morning and at night. That’s a decent amount of time for a product that truly has some magic to offer.
